So, this post was supposed to be super happy and optimistic, but then I've changed my mind. I wanted to write it some time ago, but couldn't bring myself to do so, so I'm doing it now.

I know that I'm not anywhere near being a perfect writer and I still have really much to learn and I'm not trying to prove otherwise. What's more, English is not my first language, so it's obvious that I not only may, but what's more, I should make grammar mistakes and it's perfectly normal. What's more, I know that there are many people around here who are the same. I think that it's really cool that those people try to master another language and I cheer for them with all my heart. But still...

I've been writing fics for... almost three years now. I did it in different fandoms, with different pairings and genres. Plus I've read even more fics so far. And I think I can say that I'm pretty good at what I'm doing. But that's not the point. The thing is, every single time I look around Lj and read fics, it hits me that people tend to spazz over the most crappy ones. I seriously can't understand it. I mean, I know that most of fic-readers are a bunch of squealing fangirls who just care about their two ( or more) favorite stars making out, but still it really makes me want to cut myself with a spoon when I read a fic with the most hopeless plot possible, written in a horrible style and with tones of grammar mistakes and typos. As I said, I understand that most od those people are not American, but for Christ's sake, if they can't write properly, but still feel the need to do it, they should just use a beta! I mean, everyone needs someone to read their fic or original story because everyone makes mistakes and it's perfectly normal!

I understand that fics are not some high class stories and people write them and read them for fun. But even if it's about fun, isn't it always better to read a well written story with interesting plot? Because even if most people are just after pointless smut, it's completely different to read even this simple smut when it's not just crappy.

Not to mantion that writing without mistakes, proofreading your stories, for me it's a sign of respect towards your readers. And it's really infuriating when, as I earlier mentioned, people love even the worst fics, comment on them, make the authors think they are awesome, and so make them write more crappy stories!

Writing is not for everyone. Sure, if someone has readers, they should just write. But then again, they could put at least a little effort into it.
